Default how do i copy a program off my computer???

ive got a bluetooth prog on lap top that i need to get on my desktop pc. how do i do it????

ive tried copying the desktop short cut to desk but all i getis the actual logo??????

can i email myself the program or doi have to copy it to cd????

You need to copy the setup / installation file from the laptop to the pc. Or re-download it.

U copy an installed program. If its installed it spreads files all over the place and makes changes to the registry.

i had the program on disc but ive lost the disc?

where abouts on the computer can i find the install etc........

sorry for all the thick questions

dont think the actual setup file will still be there. TBH.

It usually extracts the info from like a file and writes to the registry and distrubutes the necassary files/serivices onto your pc

What you should do when installing any software is to create a folder somewhere called "setups" Each time you want to install a new piece of software, first copy it to your setups folder and then install from there. If the program ever needs to repair or install other components then the OS will already know the path the the install. Doesnt help you in this case but might be useful for future reference. Also means you dont need to keep track of all your install media.

unless u know the exact names of all filenames and where they are placed, you wont have a chance.

get the install disk/file again.

as above, whats the program?
