Need a decent, Thick ally Radiator for my S2.....


Dont really want a new Genuine Ford one, So what do you recommend?


The options as far as i know are :-


Pace
Radtec
Pro Alloy
GRS
Custom maybe?

any one of these will do the job!
personally i have the Pace version which works really well

 

get a ford copper one, copper has better heat trasnfer properties than alloy

Pace rad on mine, certainly up to the job, gauge never above half way since fitted, highly rocommended....

If it's going in the boot then you don't have to be limited to a standard size

 

Radders, i think i have the best cooling on any road s2. I have to, i can't afford overheating etc. If u look at my setup, there is room for a small motorbike rad where the std cooler used to sit - going to put this on, as extra capacity for very hot days

 

Would you not benifit from just a bigger Rad?

 

y would u want a copper core when they rust much more faster then an alloy rad and gives u lots of crap in ur engine and cant flow as was as an alloy one !!! all of the cars now built come with alloy rad not copper!!!!

 

Ford rads used to be steel. Copper does not rust. Even if it did, thats what antifreeze is for.

copper does not rust or corrode so will last forever. It can however, turn a green (patina) colour like an old statue

 

As above Copper painted black is best for disipating heat.

If you keep you water system in good condition it will last for years.

Also i have a Pace and it could be made about 4 rows taller for extra cooling.
