Paint spraying equipment
I would really like to teach myself to spray and an willing to spend a bit of time and money learning. I have seen this equipment. Will this do the job?

Also, does this gun look okay?

I'm not expecting a spot on totally immaculate finish but would this equipment be up to the job? I've got a bonnet to experiment on and costed the paint and laquer at about £30 to do a bonnet. This weighs in at about £180 for the above equipment and paint to have one attempt.
Do the experts think i'm wasting my time or is it possible to teach yourself? I have been quoted about £100 to get the bonnet done professionally but I would like to learn for future projects.

I should not think that compresser would be big enough, mine runs 21CFM but that supplys my gun and air fed mask.
IMO go for a gravity feed gun, i use a Sealy tools one, I think they cost around the £60 mark

I see. I had it in my mind that i'd read somewhere that anything between 5 and 10 cfm would be okay. Do you think I would need a gravity feed gun for this lower flow rate then (as I understand they require less flow volume than a syphon one)?
Is it very hard to learn how to spray? Do you think i'm wasting my time and money by even attempting it?

IMO i would pay the £100 and get a pro to do it, its not as easy as everyone thinks and a bonnet aint the easyest thing to start with.
Buy the time you have bought a compressor, gun, paint, sandpaper, polish etc, will have cost you a lot more.
