Default Bullet Cameras

I am thinking about getting a decent bullet camera for track days and general messing about. What do you need to look for when choosing a decent one?

Thanks

get ones with the most lines per image you can, most are only 420 mine are 520

bought mine here: http://www.qv500.com/racecam/gallery.php

these guys are the dogs mate and im trialing their new incar mounts for them

but i also made my own mounts in the existing grills

rear mount is in the towing eye cover that i modified

the kit is amazing, comes in a proper abs case so nothing will get damaged and their customer service is outstanding

heres a small video of mine in action at bedford autodrome: http://www.savefile.com/files/3131776

click on the link and it'll take you to the page to download it

Also easier for playing with it afterwards so you can post that "sideways front pointing at rock" picture.

Or the video when you stack it and roll 7 times

I've got one of these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sony-480-line-...QQcmdZViewItem

Make sure you get a PAL one though as the seller is in the US, good seller though

And I'm planning to mate it with one of these

when you buy one, make sure it is ful lscreen colour pal (640 x 480). i also got a sun shield if they do one, several spare lens covers, and a variety of lenses.

i used a company in ireland, www.rfconcepts.co.uk

these cameras give a normal composite video output. to record it, you can use a normal vcr, a camcorder if it has an external analogue input, or some sort of digital recording device like laptop of PVR if they have an input for analogue video.

i used to use my camcorder, and then put it on the laptop using firewire, but i recently bought a pcmcia analogue capture card to do it directly for in car stuff. i'll still use the camcorder in the rucksack for ski/board though

Any camcorder with a AV in, or a Personal Video Recorder like the one in my post, or a laptop

How much were your 3 cameras then Rudey? If you don't mind me asking.

Fancy a set up that will do Pic in pic, or 3 cams filming front, rear and in car or similar.

Cheers
Simon

Cheapest way is to get a TV tuner for your PC (either PCI or USB) and then you can hook the video output from your camcorder and then it will record in a HUGE video format. Then use video editing (Ulead, Pinnacle and loads of others available) software to muck about and edit your video and then use the latest version of Nero to make a DVD or something like TMPEGEnc or Dr DivX (or similar - these are just what I use) to make it into VCD or DivX format (good for putting on web).

Cheers,

Andy
