Using Skill.

There is a Print Screen button to the right of the function keys. I use ALT + Print Screen, not sure if you need the ALT though. I then select 'New' in Fireworks and it automatically gives me a canvas the right size for the screen I have copied.

christian, yes you would be correct in pressing alt-printscreen, this take a "grab" of the currently selected window, whereas just printscreen on its own takes a grab of everthing that you can see, icons at bottom, start menu and every open window.
