Personally I think it looks a bit wank. Far too "In yer face" for me. Subtle cutting like Twins has done works well on 90 spec bumpers but that's about as far as I would go
yeh make ur front end stand out from the rest !!!!! i like the bumper cut out, in progress with mine keep number plate to bottom tho no side squre thingys not my 2p LoL
I think it comes down to the individual car. You see alot of these jap cars that have big fmic's and they look ok, I think the fiesta in ballin's sig also looks ok, but I just think it totally spoils the front end of the S2 and makes it looked deformed!
all down to personal opinion...alot of the people on here are real purists and will like the standard look over everything. personally i don't like the look of the cut out bumper but would use one for practical reasons (cooling etc)....
i wouldn't condemn someone for doing it, its their choice....
The Escort has cooling issues on the track, so I'm doing it to improve cooling.
mine doesnt !!!!!!!!!!
I said on the track, been there? My car has around 170hp at 1 bar boost. Standard IC and standard radiator which is flushed. The air temp were around 15 degrees the days I drove this summer. After four-five laps the needle would be just below red and after ten laps in the red. I had to drive whit the heat on in the car to control the temperature. Ford added 30hp when they turbocharged the Escort but they reduced the size of the radiator! Bravo.. Yes the RST have cooling issues when you drive it hard, maybe not on the roads but you floor it lap after lap the heat builds up.
When I drive in the western parts of Norway where there are many slow hillclimbs the temperature will rise quickly because the radiator and fan is to slow to get rid of the heat when not alot of air is going thorugh the radiator. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the combination of the small radiator added power and the design of the frontal area will cause cooling problems.

i do between 6 and 10 trackdays a year dude!! and all in the summer!!
i dont have cooling problems and i'm running cosideribly more power than you!! i just built it properly!!
Water pump is two years old, radiator is in good condition. Doesn't overheat on the road. Coolant is one year old. But it might just be because I DON'T DRIVE LIKE A FUCKING PUSSY!

or maybe its because your car just isnt up to it!!
i find it annoying having to pass slow, overheating cars when on track!!

There's a few members that can vouch for my own lead foot mate. Standard intercooler at 15psi on track is asking for trouble. I'm amased you haven't blown the engine to pieces
No problems for several track days this summer. 14.5 PSI is on the limit, but it's doable.
No, it's not properly built, but it's Ford who built it. Added 30 hp, added a water cooled turbochager and shrunk the radiator. Shit happens when you are on a thight budget.
The ACT's will be through the roof mate which will cause the ignition timing to be retarded which in turn will be costing you loads of power. You need a bigger intercooler chap

I can vouch...
As for 15psi and a standard intercooler , Seriously mate , Sort out a new/decent intercooler
