my boost gauge reads -20 on idle my mates reads -8?

Default my boost gauge reads -20 on idle my mates reads -8?

hi my mates rs has a boost gauge in it and on idle it reads -8 and mine reads -20 he has had a new engine done less than 2000miles
but the thing is it had low vac on the old engine anyone got any ideas why it is so low or is he woring about nothing?

Mine read's -20 has he checked the pipe ain't cought between something or split anywhere

what does it all mean. think mine is around -17/-18. good or bad

normal idle is around the -10psi/-20 inches of mercury. Check what ur scale is calibrated in on the vacume side.

on one of mine, the vacume is around -8 - -10 psi and on the other its about -15?

does it make a difference if your running silicon vacume hose???

Engines build up vacuum as they age. At 2000 miles mine was still building it up, it's stopped now.

My engine starts to boost from around 2100rpm and boost on idle is around 17- to -20 psi.(ON Idle)

Well i am taking it to power engineering to get her set up tomorrow cant wait.

I just took my car out filled her all the way to the brim of super unleaded and turned the boost down. just smoked a 2.0 focus with all the setting turned down i was Rs Power :P
