got my first driving lesson this week so would be nice to get my own car soon. needs to be fairly cheap to run, fairly cheap insurance.

was thinking of something like a 1.1 fiesta then making it an xr2i look alike.

just basically need something cheap, preferable between 1.0 - 1.3, fiesta, escort, corsa, anything like that, not too bothered about it having tax and MOT. would like a 3dr if any of ya fancy paying the insurance and fuel bill for me

that looks really clean, not keen on the rear lights and the fact that its been de-badged but apart from that it doesnt look bad for £1000

Well it is something i would settle before I travelled to see it so suggest you offer it with a deadline of say 3 weeks and see if he bits.

If i was buying it i would have an RS turbo/XR2i kit fitted and sprayed (cost about £200 all in) and have the mirrors colour coded, would look nice then.

Put the offer to him mate, tell him you like it but don't feel it is worth anymore than £1100 and that if he wants to do a deal then you'll bring cash and pick it up.

Don't listen to his "Been offered £1600" bollocks, if he had he would have ripped their arm off, he is just trying to recoop as much cash back as he can, if he smells money. he may bite, you've got nout to loose.
