s2 box into a s1

s2 box into a s1

I know it dont fit, but why doesnt it fit?
Is it just the cradle or something else?

the casing on the S2 box doesnt have the bolt holes to fit the S1 mounts. You either need to change the suspension setup on a S1 to S2. Or changing the casing on the gearbox for a S1 casing (I think MK5 escort also has same casing as S1)

the only difference is the FRONT mount as a s2 doesnt have the holes in the front of the box for the front gearbox mount, weather u can drill and tap your own im not sure. found this out when i had to exchange a gear box the other day
