as said above, tape both sides of where your going to cut before you cut it.
try and get the tape as tight round the hose as possible, should cut alright then.
use a fine toothed hack saw blade if you ca as well so it dont grab at the metal.
if its still bad then turn the blade round in the hack saw so that it is actually cutting when your drawing the saw back towards you. that will help reduce the blade snagging the metal and bending it.

cowboi is another one who would rather use a manual saw to cut tubing ect, when we was fitted a exhaust to my cabrio we needed to chop a few pipes and join em and hes got the most over stocked tool collection known to man, HE GRABS THE FUCKING SAW and starts to cut the pipe with it
i got the angle grinder and cuts the fucking thing like ya ment too
he excuse is its not a tidy or acutate way of cutting so he prefers the LONG way

half the resaon was though i only had a grinding wheel on my grinder not a cut off wheel.
so it was never gonna make a good gob of it
