well u all know im sorting my head out do u defo have to skim the head when a gasket gos ? and if i get a headgasket kit do i get all the bolts etc with it also i had a little air leak round the air inlet manfold if i buy a new gasket could this solve it ?


any tips or advice u fink ill need im taking the head off myself and im going to pass it on to be skimmed if i need too what else should i do ??

im lookin for a haynes manual that covers the rstubo cant find one ive looked at 2 but they dont seem to cover it ???? am i blind ?

are there any on line manuals atall??

cars off the road for a few days so having the rocker painted and fitting my new polished crossover pipe

right...

yes skim head, its cheap enough

no, need head bolts separate, cheap enough, MUST get new ones

youll need a full head gasket set, inc manifold gaskets etc, replace them all!!

get a normal mk4 heynes. i got one of the old ones off ebay for $3 (loads more info + thicker, its got a purple cover IIRC)
