Has anybody got an easy way to set the linkage up as I just can't seem to get it sorted. I have fitted the stabiliser bar and the gearchange linkage but it wont go into all the gears Cheers in advance

 

try and get the gear box into reverse, then put the linkage in reverse thats the way i do it mate get a helper to assist someone who hasent driven your car before as you can spend ages on your own but having someone else in the car saves time and also offers impartial advise ie you can convince yourself it still not quite right when its perfectly ok

 

To put it in reverse, is the selector shaft all the way in or all the way out???

Presumably on an escort? Get some parts and service up your gear stick assembly, they wear making them have loads of play anf theyre a nightmare to set up. And as someone else quoted, it's like stirring porridge
