I had my car about 2 months i have not really drove it apart from round the block(Insurance Wise). Ive Been putting normal unleaded with a petrol can( 5er here and there).

I get my car on the road next monday 12th and that is also when i take it to power engineering to. if i wait till i get a empty tank then fill it up with super unleaded (Full Tank)

When i get my car on the road i want to run it on super unleaded all the time.

will this be ok???

I use optimax in mine but havent heard of any problems with super unleaded.

 

when i had my car setup at PE he mapped it to run only on super unleaded

i don't really understand your post but if you fill up with SU before you go to Powers they will do the same for you, so you will have to use SU all the time

 

thats what i mean i either use super unleaded or optimax there basically the same yea??

optimax is the best, ONLY use super, itll help stop it pinking

From my understandning, you should ONLY use super unleaded or better (97+ RON) (Optimax is slightly better than normal super I think, 98.6 RON?) the reason being I think is because turbo cars run slightly lower compression so require a fuel that burns at a higher temperature to avoid pinking.

The japs are lucky and have 100 RON fuel available over there, thats why if you buy a fresh imported car (scooby etc...) you need unplug it's brain overnight so that when you put it back in the following morning and fill up with your 97RON fuel it will reprogram itself for use on the fuel (kind of like an automatic "Live Map")

Im not 100% sure of all the exact details, but thats a rough idea as to why.

 

mate buy the new peformance ford they do a petrol test.. optimax is the best.. and 97 ron is not as good. optimax gives u the best results and is the best for ur car..
