Discussion: What makes an engine more revable?
Just wanted to know what the mechanics were behind getting a car to rev higher. (Purely just to expand my own knowlage)
I mean, what make a Honda Civic Type R engine rev to 10k where the FRS engine will only rev to 7k? (I think its & k anyway) and what makes a firblade engine rev more than just about every other engine I can think of other than an F1 car.

the design of the engine, the length of the rod
more to the point about reving engines is the powerband, no point reving it to 30k if the powerband ends at 6k then tails off
engine can be made to rev higher aswell as keep the powerband higher but then how many people would use that on a road car so as a result people work to a budget of what they got i would think
