The pivot point needs raising to make it short throw, so that wont change a thing

I hated mine at first. (B&M) had to mod it to make it competition proof, as the rubber seal/alloy bearing idea just wasn't upto it

Once you get used to it its fine, the only thing I still don't like about it is I can now hit reverse from 5th as there is no gate

Its not made anything any quicker - just more positive, so it depends on your reason for wanting one I suppose.

Pain to get used too, especially when giving it some and can't get 3rd gear

Good positive modification though

hey NUTS RUS what do u mean by more postive mate? i mean iv got a stage 2 CTS gearbox. thought that maybe thats the next thing for the car.. i only use the car for fast road use and if it would make the gearchange feel a bit tighter in anyway then its something that i would defintly consider getting.

NUTS RuS......

I was always told......NO ONE LIKES A SMART ASS

Hmmmmm no gate for reverse is never a good thing mind, i had a car that the linkage was so worn (as most of them are on these) that you could hit reverse from 5th, did it everytime until i got used to it

Well it will certainly make it feel tighter (positive selection between gears), but infact it dosnt change any of the rods, so if your problem is with them then its a bit pointless.

And any chav should know that the bit that stops you hitting reverse is inside the plastic bit under the lever, not in the linkage itself Simple 10 minute job to change

In a mk4 gearbox the "5th to reverse gate" is in the box.

If you don't go for the B&M its always worth Re-Furbing your standard one!!

My car has only done 60k miles and the gearchange is sweet as a nut becase the components are in GOOD condition.

Stip the assembly apart and replace the bits that look worn...fill it up with grease and the gearchange is very good in my opinion!!

Any car with a 100k mile old assembly will feel sloppy!!
