Default UH OH! Low compression :o(

145-90-135-65(!)

Yet, despite this, the car somehow ticks over normally!?!

The engine was rebuilt 25k ago, complete with rebore etc

Any thoughts?

oh not good. could be a number of things, blown rings, cracked piston, cracked bore, cracked head.

think is a take apart job.

i just found one of my pistons cracked which has only done 3.5k miles, and looking at it, it may have been a duff piston to start with as the piston itself looks fine and looks like the car has been running spot on.

It could also be down to your cam being worn, or the valves burning out which is a common thing on CVH's.

That's what i was hoping, but it looks like bottom end, bloody thing, knows how to pick it's moments, just spent a grand today on various bits and bobs, then it does this to me

Can't be arsed with it, probably going to break her.

Been told i might be able to get away with just a set of rings, and even though i trust the guys who would do the work 110%, i'm not sure that's all there is to it?

LOL, thinking of it, but the shell is minty clean, shame to let it go.

I'll have the rings done and see how it gets on
