what happens when you go over your download limit ?

They send you a letter advising you that you've gone past "fair use" and that you could be effecting the service of your neighbours. Goes on to tell you how you can minimize bandwidth usage etc

I got one after downloading every episode of Futurama & Family Guy a few weeks ago, bastards

how do you know what you've downloaded from them? what do they do if you keep going over your limit?

 

ive got a little program called DU meter which runs in the background and keeps count oh how much youve downloaded

im on 29.34gb dl at the moment but i didnt re - install du meter until the 6th of november lol

Never had any letters from NTL before

and ive got about 30gig of porn on my drive at mo

 

I was told NTL dont enforce anything at the moment, I have the basic package which should be 3 gig limit but i have downloaded two games this month both 3 gig each and no letters.. plus various episodes of lost and surface.

 

ive had a few letters about it, but not really saying much or making it very clear, just sugestions, still download tons and they still take £25 off me each month

 

Matt - Stop worrying. They just send you a email

 

Ntl are not enforcing the limits just now, they may only send you a letter if you go over your limit. But nothing in place just now so don't worry they wont cut you off

 

in other words, rinse the hell out of downloads

I download over 5 gig a day and never had a letter....

 

what about BT? What do they do?
