Default FRST temp guage prob.

Ever since th eother morning when we had a bit of fronst the temp guage now shoots straight off th etop as soon as you bring the dash lights up?

Any ideas? Or reckon it's just the sensor on the head?

try a new temp sender first its cheaper mate! cars upto 2/91 use 6146864 (red/pink) after 2/91 use 1657685(green) about 15 quid from ford.temp gauge 7177829 about 40 quid hope this helps

if the temp needle goes straight up when you turn the ignition on the temperature wire is getting earthed somewhere,
usually by the temp sensor
