totally agree with him being a legend , but come on he had enough chances a new liver that meant fuckall to him or he would`nt of went back on the drink. R.I.P when he does go yeah but a bit of a knob for not listening to advice giving to him and that liver could of gone to someone he would of loved a second chance imo

Legend, he was the best British Player ever. Im a Man U fan and Rooney is not good enough to lace Besty`s boots. The day he destroyed the World Cup winning full English side at Windsor Park in a home international match ooh the pain Booby Moore thought there was at least five of besty!!

Say what you want about his personal life, who on here is going out this weekend to get pissed or even have a few drinks and commented or agree with the comments about bests drink problems, where the word legend summed best up, the word hypocrite would sum some people up.

I don't know much about George Best, just what you read in the papers and stuff, and generally the papers portray a bad imagine of people. He was a human being at the end of the day. He made mistakes by the sound of it but none of us are prefect

Alcoholism is a dreadfull addiction, to be an alcoholic you must be a very unhappy screwed up person inside to begin drinking in the first place. We shouldn't really judge someone when we are not in possesion of all the facts. It's pretty harsh for us to say "he wasted his chances" and shut the door on him. As it was HIS life and HIS choices.

Just like alot of you smoke....and drive your cars dangerously..you know it could kill you..but you still do it. As it's YOUR choice Shallow people judge from first impressions and what they read in the paper. Did any of you that are slating him, actually know him on a personal level?..........Thought not

R.I.P Mr Best.

What i have to say tho is''RIP the person who missed out on that liver'' And not RIP the person who didnt deserve it just because of money and fame Im sorry to all the people i offend by saying this but its what i feel...

Do you think the person who was first in line to receive that liver before it got bought for bestie is STILL ALIVE?

I know where your coming from but that's life, people with money and fame will get preferential treatment. He took the liver as he would have died otherwise, his time was up and he knew it, but he got a few more months out of life and i guess his family are gratefull for that. I would have taken the liver aswell in his position, as nobody wants to die.

I have a very good freind who has acute liver disease and she is on the waiting list for a donar. But they have said she will be dead before she get's one. So i understand where your coming from. But i blame the system..not George Best. As he did what any of us would have done, given the chance to live. Because he was famous/Rich meant he jumped the waiting list which is wrong but George Best didn't break the rules..they did.

What he did after the transplant was a pretty bad thing but alcoholism is quite misunderstood and frowned upon, but those people have no idea what it must be like to be an addict. As if they were an addict i doubt very much they would look at it through the same rose tinted glasses .

he was the only donar suitable for that liver at the time,,if someone else was suitable they would have got it first

Yeah it is the system about geting the liver i agree, nicole. But, as you say he abused it afterwards...its that what makes me feel like i cant have sympathy.

Im not saying 'good he deserved it' hell no i aint no sick person....but to me his death has no more relevance than anyone else i dont know. I just wish he hadnt abused it....as he was a true Legend in his profession
