What are my options gearbox wise for my XR2i 16v??

And i'm talking fitment and not "A Bernie Box"

I'm running a Mondeo silver top 2.0 16v lump and my current 1.8 box is on its last legs and about to die, the ratios on it are pants - topping out at 110mph @ 6500rpm

I'm getting a Fezzie Rs Turbo box tonight in the hope that it'll A) Last longer and B) Give me a better top speed (Not that i'm fussed to much as i prefer 0-60)

So whats the coo peeps??

Are there any 2.0 engines that will fit?? Rs2k? Rs1800 whats that like? What about a mk3 Escort box? S1 perhaps?

 

All gearboxes, CVH and Zetec will fit

Y not use an ERST box with an lsd?

i think u will hav to change the flywheel tho (but i aint 100% sure on that)

No the RS2K is an L4 dohc engine Mazda based innit?

Al the duratec/torq boxes should fit shouldn't they? Aren't they just zetec bottom ends anyway?

In which case, fix the 6 speed from your old Mundane-Oh

 

Zetec, Duratec and RS2k/2.3 DOHC are interchangeable except from the starter position. These must be compatible. But Mondeos came with the MTX box...
