Default rs turbo replica tips please(exhaust suspension etc) thanks

ok guys ive seen a basic start car for my replica eventually i want it be a rst complete

what suspension drop should i get?
what exhaust would be best as it will be a replica for a while i want something to realy sound like a rst? i was thinking maybe 2 4" exits either side of the back?
i think its a 1.2 1990 escort bonus is this ok for converting?
what would i be looking to pay for spraying bonnet front bumper rear bumper skirts(basically the bodykit) or should i get a full respray?
wheres best to look for the above aparts and what should i be looking to pay thanks alot

Probablly get different responses to this, but heres what I would do :

Drop it 25mm
I would go for a single 4" exit exhaust (not into twin exits myself)
Any escort shell will be ok for converting, although some strengthening may be required in certain areas
With regards to spraying, bit difficult question. I reckon to spray the bits you mention it will cost about £200-£300. As to wether you should respray the whole car or not, ask yourself a) is the car paintwork any good as it is? if not then a whole respray would be a good idea, b) will the sprayer be able to do a good match of the bodykit to the color of the car? if not, then a complete respray would be best. Also, if you wanted it to be a good replica then you are probablly gonna wanna do a full respray because I dont think the bonus come in a colour that the rst does ? (maybe red?? im not sure)
With regards where best to look, keep an eye on your local paper, RS forums (like the for sale section on here) and of course ebay! there is another thread on here from a couple days ago that I responded to about what would be need in the engine department etc...

25-40mm drop.
no exhaust will make a 1.2 sound like a 1.6 turbo, and it wont be a replica with a pipe on each side?
Spraying, all paint shops are different, it varies on ability & where you look, a back street bodger is going to cost pennies, while a ford bodyshop will cost the earth.

Look in the for sale forum, scrap yards & specialist ford breakers for best results.

i know it wont be authetically sound like a 1.6 turb but just to get it kinda close i guess..

so basically a 40mm drop and is a mongoose 4" single exit best?
any ideas on what would be required to be abit sneaky and get round the insurance by putting a xr3i engine in until i can do the rst
ecu loom? gearbox??

Dont have to be sneaky as such, just drop a 3i block in and dont tell your insurance.

Why people do this do is beyond me, if you have an accident of any type, you are gonna be absolutley screwed!

as long as its not super major and u get it reclaimed urself so the insurance dont look it its fine i guess

basically im only young and cant insure a 3i so i need to hide it from them unfortunatly
and i dont want 1.2 rst rep lol its abit silly just having not even 1/4th of the power of a real rst lol

It's a common problem - young lad wants fast car but cant insure, so gets a cheap car to insure and then puts on all the bits to make it look fast / go fast.

I know I wont change your mind, but you will need to tell them about you putting the bodykit on also as this will affect your premium / make it void if you dont tell them.

I know it sucks, but you will be fooked if you get found out!

what i would do personnaly mate is buy a bit of a tatty rst and do it up, do a full resto on it and make it into the car you want, rather than the looks but no go!, plus that way by the time you have restored it you will be able to get insured on it , doesnt matter how long it takes cus it will be yours at the end of the day, no point in spending a shed load of cash on a bonus.
buy yourself a cheap run about in the mean time.
cheers mark.

Not being funny mate but if an underinsured person ran into the back of my RS I would batter the fucker sensless.

Insurance is high for youn lads with powerfull cars as they don't have the ability to handle them and all think they can drive. This usually ends with a screech, a bang and a car sized hole in a wall or hedge.

Seriously mate don't bother
