Mongoose are lovely exhausts.

To be fair any of the decent zorsts will be fine Mongoose, Magnex or Scorpion (which are NOT restrictive despite what some say)

am happy with the sound of my magnex 4" exhaust.

the police however are not and have pulled me over before and complained about noise pollution.

ive got a 3" torque tube exhaust with a 4"outwardly rolled exaust and it sounds awsome,
i dont think ive ever seen another rs turbo with a torque tube, but it does sound very different to the mongoose on my other car.
build quality is also brilliant although it doesnt have a flexi section at the front.

i think i'll be having either a custom 3" bore like tube torque or 3" bore Mongoose, hopefully they sound as nice as im expecting prefer it if they were a little on the loud side as the cars not for everyday use anyway, but needs to be quiet enough for track days regs

I cant speak about newer Scorpions (if they have changed recently, i might be wrong i dont know) but certainly the old scorpions ARE restrictive, you can hear it on the car when it comes on boost, it's quit noticeable if you know what to listen for. It basically sounds like air being forced through a hole smaller than it can get through fast enough, kinda sounds like a jet?

Not only can you hear it, 2.5" from turbo back down to 2" in the backbox you can see it! not exactly the best picture but you get the idea

believe it or not

My times were recorded with a huge sound system in the boot. I'm looking forward to getting it timed again now it's stripped

still, a full sound system wouldnt equate to a full second faster, with slightly less power

how striped do you mean it is now, full interior or just the sound system taken out?

out of interest, you still on the felpro head gasket?

Felpro gasket failed almost a year ago just haven't updated my sig.

The car is now stripped of everything bar the carpet and a 6 point roll cage.

I don't know what suspension setup this guy has or wheels tyres etc. There are lots of possible differences between the two cars and the conditions under which they were timed. Without lining the pair of the cars up at the same time on the same track using the same timing equipment it's all pretty irrelevant.

Thats true, but a bhp figure is pretty irelivent unless used as a comparison from X spec to adding something then doing a power run to see if it's made a difference!

Alex zvh cabrio, did you get the car on a RR to notice a difference or have it re-set up with the other exhaust on?

we'll agree to dissagree or we'll face a 10page yes it is, no it's not thread

i have a magnex but i would prefer the mongoose and i dont know about anyone else but my magnex tailpipe is pointing slightly to the left as i know the mongoose and scorpion actually bend back slightly to the right to finish perfectly straight
