Default Alternator Drop Brackets , needed with T34 & 2wd M/fold

Ive hung my turbo on and its sitting real close to the std alternator position . Does anyone recommend a drop bracket and if so where from ???
Also if using these do you have to angle grinder the loop that sticks out of the block at the bottom or is there another way round this ??
Regards
Tony

It's upto you if you get one BUT it aint gonna hurt is it.I noticed this as well so i bought one.Got mine form Forge Motorsport but i think A1 rallysport sell them as well. And Yes you do need to chop off that offending chunk off block. And you can cut it with a good quality hacksaw as if you use a disc cutter your spraying iron fillings everywhere which will rust and cos problemms later on.

And watch when you fit it.As you need to chop 1 of the bolts down as if you dont you will bend drop bracket. As it push's against block.

a mk2 rs2000 alloy alternator bracket with polybushes in is a good alternative, sets the alternator nice and low

I've always run my 2wd manifold, and NO alternator drop bracket..........

Alternator is shielded, as is the wiring

I've put one on my Mk1 just in case - its only 5 minutes work to grind/fit and is essential if using a genuine 500 cooler obviously..

Tony,

I know it gets hot - I used to run without a turbo heatshield

My alternator used to run a custom heatshield, manufactured from a chopped up turbo heatshield.............

Hi Tony

I have fitted and Rs 500 drop bracket to mine as i was killing alternators everytime i was going out on track even with heat shiled (only on t34) ...if you are going to fit one you would have to grind of the loop bit that the bottom off the 200 block ........

Steve scott sell some of these made in alloy or just get yourself a mk2 rs2000 drop bracket thats in alloy aswell ......
