Default huge injectors running in batch mode = bad mpg ?

running dta pro in batch mode and have horendous mpg when driving mega lightly, don't mind when thrashing it.
i have 525cc injectors running in batch mode, will changing to sequential dramatically improve mpg at light/cruising sensible driving ?

Yes you will have bad fuel consumption.

Doesnt make much difference when under load though.

Usually batch injection triggers the injectors EVERY crank cycle if all 4 are
fired together or in alternate revolutions if triggered in pairs.

If you get the wrong pair in the wrong cycle that too can cause fuel drop out and cause high fuel consumption and bad idle.

Best use sequential (may need to double pulse width depending on configuation and ecu type etc...)

You will however need a phase/cam sensor so the ecu knows which
cycle the engine is on to do this properly.
(or some trick software )

Another issue when using EITHER modes is injector PHASING.

I.E WHEN the injector actually starts to open with respect to valve/crank position.
Large injectors will only be at there best is PHASED correctly.

Why would you be running it in batch fire you might as well have a MFI set up.

the vaux xe/let engine does not have anywhere to retrofit a cam sensor, it needs fabricating which is out of my range of skills/tools unless there's a purpose made add on that someone has created

You can add a sensor to the cam wheel if you cant use the cam.

Lee, there is a dizzy on the end of the engine with a hall sensor in it isnt there?

Failing that, just whack a drive on the front of one of the cam pulleys like a manta does
