Agree with Gracelend - the original and the best. Not the fastest, not the most advanced. But definately the best looking, definately the most exclusive and without a doubt THE best. The ONLY M3 I''d have........and did look at one a while back to be honest.
I've been looking into an E46 M3 next year, I had a play with one a few weeks ago round some back roads, personally a bit dissapointed in the M3 didn't seem to pull as well as the escort, either overtaking or on the straights. On paper the figure suggest they should be very similar to a stage 3 cos, but on the road I though the escort was a bit quicker...
Unless the M3 driver was being a girl ??
Excellent car though !!!

Yeah sean the cossie has brutal power and it feels quick but the beemer is smoother id say and thats what I want now.Don't know if i should trade it in or sell it on here?
I got an E36 M3, 290bhp or summit and Im telling you my Saph Cos(330bhp) would have destroyed the fucker in every way
,
I know the new ones have 340bhp but I still dont think it would have enough to live with a Stage 3 Cossie.
Before I sold my Saff I raced an E46 M3 down the M` Way and was sitting on his tail all the way, he was giving it some as well

Yeah I dont doubt that stage3 cossies could hold their own with an m3 but I just think the whole package of an m3 is better.Whats the top speed with the limiter off them?

175mph apparently, funny though mates just bought a Daytona Violet one , took it straight down the motorway and he`s got it on video doing 162mph,
theyre supposed to be restricted to 155. He rang the bloke up who he bought it off and he said he never got it chipped or owt so fook knows what happened there. But ya right mate, no one on here can compare all round Cossie to an all round M3 , they just arent in the same league mate

Id swap my saph for a new m3 anyday of the week.
Had a tear up with one at the ring last year up some local road pulled a car length on it with 3 up in each car, stage 3 saph. Had a lap roundd the ring later on with said m3 and very impressed at how quick it was round.

I used to have an Esc Cos

At the time I had the Escort I had an E30 M3 as a road car

Those wheels lasted about 5 minutes. I changed them for a set of 17" BBS's
I have since upgraded the Escort to my Lotus Exige and my E30 M3 to an E46 M3

It has been a long time since my Escort was a 330BHP road car, but I remember it being a very nice road car and mine never did give me any trouble.
But when the Escort turned into a track car, I wanted something fun for the road and the E30 filled the bill. The LHD thing WAS NOT a problem, you get over it after about an hour. Changing gear with your right hand and getting used to the dog leg 1st gear took about a day to get used to.
I only have praise for my E30 M3, it was a really really great car. The only problem I had was the fuel pump relay went (Ł5) which is a common problem evidently. I used the car every day and it was comfy and rattle free. It was nice in traffic and had adequate performance, but I would in no way call it quick. In fact they are pretty god damn slow.
I also used mine on track a fair few times and it was awesome fun, you can hang the arse out at will and they are so balanced. I did brake the gear linkage twice at track days. I bodged it the first time and bought a new one the 2nd time (Ł12)
I have to say though my E46 M3 is an awesome car. It does everything so awesomly well. OK I agree it isn't the fastest thing out there, but it isn't far off and I just love NA cars, for that instantaneous shove in the back.
It has all the bells and whistles on it and is the comfyest thing I have ever been in. It really is a great every day car. Plus the reliability is obviously on another planet compared to a cossie. Mainly because of the age etc.

Sean..
I have thought about selling my 400 BHP Esc cos for an M3 too and everyone is telling me to get a grip on myself and that it will be shit slow compared to the Esc cos which is probably right but its not all about pure power for me now, its about having a nice quick car that you can use everyday and actually park somewhere without shitting a brick.
I just cant stop thinking about changing the Esc cos for a nice reliable M3.

hi guys,
thats me with the blue one that came to the ring.
If you can afford one get one i would strongly recomend the SMG box too awsome, but remember its not just buying it servicing costs a bit and insurance is silly but the reward is a car that sits 4 with a boot all the mod cons and most important a WARRENTY!!!!
I miss my cossie massively and am always looking for another to have, i dont tend to drive the bm as hard as the cossie simply as stacking a 30k motor will create more problems than stacking a 5k motor so in that way the cossie can be more fun, but its nice to have a car with non of the usual ford problems.
As said most of the 20k cars will be coupe no nav on 18" etc and prob out of warrenty but if looked after will still be a pukka buy, if you can stretch to it get a car with nav and 19" with warrenty as in the long run will be worth it.
As far as the question of against a stage 3 cossie, a few will admit i was pretty glued to there bumper and i dont think there was any standard cossies in the convoy. i agree a cossie stage 3 about to come on boost and catching a m3 out will well and truly muller the m3 but if its together or the m3 driver catches the cossie off boost then the cossie will have to try very very hard to catch and pass!!!!
looking forward to the next ring trip.
p.s did anyone know cossymad has a fettish with cliff richard???

M3's come with a reputation for the drivers/ owners being big dickheads, but this is just a romour. The truth is, they are driven by gaylords.
P.S. Cliff Richard is cooool

P.P.S. Do you want a copy of it?
