Default Misfire Help!!! :(

Hi guys, wondering if anyone can help....

My Fiesta (1.25 Zetec), it started about 3miles away from home, just a slight misfire at about 3000rpm, it also stutters when pulling away at about 1200rpm .

Phil has taken the plugs out and found No4 to be all coked up, cleaned it up, refitted closing the gap slightly and no difference, replaced the plug for another, no luck, still there.

Guessing its probably the lead? Its coilpack, and the missfire is only affecting one cylinder, so I am guessing the coilpack is fine, as it'd affect two if it was broken?

Any help appreciated, thanks guys

If you think its the lead just replace the lead, you'll find out in 10 seconds!!!However I would guess it is the coilpack,as my sisters had the same problem.Regards Micky

Try swapping the leads over to see if the Misfire follows where you put the 'Suspect' lead. Obviously make sure you swap both ends!!

e.g. If the Misfire is one number 4 Cylinder, try putting that lead on Cylinder 3 and the lead from Cylinder 3 on Cylinder 4.

Also, I am fairly sure that the Coilpack could still drop one Cylinder.

Would guess the coil pack, there's not many days I don't fit one of those on a Zetec

Changed leads and plugs today and its still the same, will get a coilpack tommorow and give it a try.

Car is still very drivable with it missing, bit of a pain though, hopefully its just a coilpack and nothing more serious
