And when they bought made sure it was made in RHD? Just wondering as went to a car show today and cars are soooooooo much cheaper over here you could get this VERY nice Lexus, with all the Toys and just over 300bhp for $37k And i mean it was nice!

I know you could order a RHD car in main land Europe from some dealers but just wondering if anyone had done it and what was involved in make them order a RHD car.

 

I bought my RST2 in 89 from germany and still got it You will find that rhd cars are usually available in germany coz they cater for the forces out there.Selling tax free to the army is big money.I think there are dutch garages as well but not as many.Lastly not all cars/models will come in rhd as the manufacturers cant be assed i.e Lancia delta intergrale or a ferrari.

 

I beleive that in the US, dealers will not sell RHD cars because they know they will be impported into the UK. This then interfears with the UK importers area, who loose a RHD sale.

Tried it before and never found one who will budge as the MFR just won't supply them the car.

But they have no choice if you want LHD.

If you go stright to export from the dealer I think you avoid state sales tax (6% in florida).

What makes me angry is fully loaded Range Rovers are cheaper in the US than the UK by 30% and we make them and export them!!

Moose was just thinking about this Lexus! I mean i would be able to buy a new car until i finish ui in 2007, but though maybe it could be worth trying to fin a dealer over here now who might be itnrested in supply RHD car. AS i could get a full speced up Lexus for New Focus RS money Just doesnt make sense.

Bit of a pisser though if they wont do it
