need to supply roughly 7-8 rooms with TV signals, is 1 arieal enough?

Can you run 8 lines dirrectly to the ariel or do you need a booster?

1 aerial should be plenty, but I'd imagine you may need a booster or two......when I used to live at home, we had a second aerial put up for my brother and I, that with 1 small booster would serve 3 TVs (21" TV in my room, 21" TV in my brother's room, little 14" portable upstairs) with crystal-clear pic (my dad got jealous, in fact, because our picture was better than his ).

The more TV's connected to one signal the poorer the picture mate, feeding 8 id buy a good booster.

what is your pic like at the moment???

would deffo say with 7-8 tv's you would need a booster / splitter .. put it as close to the tv ariel as possible that way you wont amplify any crap that you pick up (loft normally is ok) bit bufty (good for you then )

We have a 'Loftbox'. This is a neat device.

This is how is works.....

You run a Cable from the Loftbox to your Main TV Point/Sky Box and one back up into the loft. You then feed all your additional 'Inputs' into it, such as Terrestrial TV, Sky, DAB, FM Radio, CCTV etc.

You can get a 4-way or 8-way Loftbox. This then has 4 or 8 outputs that go to up to 8 TV's. Any of the TV's can watch whatever is connected to it (Sky/TV/Radio etc etc). It has a built-in amplifier too.

We also have a 'Magic Eye'. This allows you to control your Sky Box from any room. It is a device that plugs into the TV Aeriel Socket and has an IR Sensor on the front. You then use a normal Sky remote to alter the channel in any room.

The result is that we can watch Sky/Normal TV etc in any room of the house (that has a TV). OK, so we can't watch independant channels, but you can't have it all!!

The one we have is this one......

If you go to the bottom of that page, you can also get the TV Point Sockets that include EVERYTHING, even Telephone.

That is a dead helpful website.

cheers everyone.

looks like a 8 way booster is the easiest option

not fussed about sky or cable,

as 1, we dont have sky, and 2 we cant get cable.

Where is the best place to buy and ariel?

need it tommorrow preferably, not essental, as can go through the loft hatch, but definately need to run cableing.

So basically a wire from each from into the loft ?
