Just browsing the net and found this web site and thought it would be rude if I didnt login and put some posts up.

Ive got a RS1600i which ive had for four years and I brought it when it was standard and its now a Turbo - done all the work myself and I know its not for the purist but it does shock a few people especially some of the RST boys.

Its good to see a forum just for the RSi - Anyway ive attached a picture and you'll have to tell me what you think. Still not sure if i should put the standard wheels back on? What do you think?? [img]

How's it been turbo'd m8. Is is a s1/s2 engine transplant, if so have you got any spares from the original engine left?

Standard wheels IMO.

The only ones I've seen that look good as non standard are ST170 wheels, OZ superlegga and 3 door cos wheels.

Its a full series one conversion with stage one head and bigger ex. valves, piper 285t cam, chip, exhaust, pace intercooler (GRS on order!), Stage 3 Hybrid with cossie front compressor and 0.48 ex. housing. ERL fifth injector, dump valve, K&N and various chrome bits.

Rolling roaded before the hybrid and fifth injector at 201bhp & 219lbs ft.

Spax adjustables all round with poly bushes and cossie front brakes.

Wheels are 16" Mondeo cossie alloys with 195/45 tyres.

The interior is stripped out with half cage and full leather RSi seats in the front only!

The outside is standard apart smoked rears and clear front indicators and of course the wheels.

The colour is black and the reg if your interested is JJK 661Y.

Still got the original wheels, rocker cover, inlet manifold, coils, ecu. etc.

Matt, I do have some engine shots but I had enough trouble getting the last ones up (Tony - Top Man for doing that!)

Doing some work on her at the moment - GRS intercooler & Oil Seprator and more boost!

So when its done I'll get some more pic's and get them put up!

Thought about it many times mate especially after ive just broke something or blown something up!!!!!

But ive just spent the best part of £700.00 on some steel H section rods and ive nearly got all the parts I need for cossy management so ive still got some unfinished business with the old girl yet!!!

 

Damn it I love this RS good luck with her though mate hope it all goes well

Engine bay picture - It normally has a grill aswell

 

Very nice conversion there mate, now thats what i call a sleeper!
Not too sure on the wheels, a bit too soft, a set of bad ass Mondeo RS 7 spokes or Three door cossie rims would look the biz on it. IMO the originals only look good when the cars bin well lowered.
