I have the pipe disconnected to the metering head, instead it runs into a catch tank (ie an old AP Racing brake fluid bottle ).Regards Micky

U can disconnect it, but it will need to go into a catch tank usually, as u'll blow some oil out. Good mod.

Just run the hose form the breather to the catchtank/bottle.
You need to block off the hole in the metering head, air CANNOT be allowed to get into the metering head here.
You can use any tank or bottle, all you want is something to catch the oil/water vapour.

I cut 1 cm off the end of the pipe that goes into the metering head, bunged a piece of dowling into it and used a jubliee clip to keep it in place.Regards Micky

You dont have youre engine ingesting oil,no oil coating in you're intercooler or boost pipes.Although to be honest, when I empty my catchtank all I see is condensated water vapour,as the engine is in good nick.Regards Micky

2 advantages.

First is that u are not feeding engine with oil to burn. An engine in good condition won't breath heavily though, mine barely at all, although ive seen others that piss out black smoke from breather. Oil in the combustion chamber is a major det causer.

Secondly, you will reduce crank case pressure, although not as much as with a proper swirl pot. This can help if u have problems with oil cap/disptick blowing off. You should see a reduction in oil consumption.
