Anyone downgraded their firmware to version 1.5 yet?

Heard it could be done but dont want to mess it up as i've only had it for 2 hours lol.

Mines got version 1.51 And the instructions are in Japanese

But it works fine.

 

Tony Turbo's downgraded his with no problems so far

BUT if you want to play newer game like GTA liberty city then it will make you upgrade to verion 2.0 in order to play it, as most games will do, waste of time downgrading imho.

 

I've got a program that once upgraded to ver.2 you can downgrade and use a version swapper after rebooting the device and choose whatever version you want it to think it's running. This enables me to play copied games and homebrew + play new UMD games that require ver.2 to play aswell.

 

I think you can get a program that makes the psp 'think' it's got 2.0 on it, i'll try to find the link hang on

www.psphackers.com - have a search on there pal. I am not sure what I did with my original files but I searched for them on that site. Carefull though as you could turn your psp into a brick if it doesnt work properly.

 

or you could spend your time actually playing with it, rather than fannying around with firmwares so you can play pac man

I've got a psp1000 which i think is a Jap version do i need the Jap version of 1.5, or can i just put any version on?

 

Any version mate, mines a jap unit also, i bought a UK copy of GTA on thursday and it asked me to update to V2.0 before playing

only reason gta wont work on 1.50 is because of the cutscenes are avi format which is only supported on v2.00 or above, but as soon as someone rips the cutscenes from the iso or finds another way round it, it wont run.. but can be downloaded still from various places

i also have the software that tricks other games into thinking the firmware is v2.00 but because of the above doesnt work with gta, but works with games like burnout legends which requires v1.51 or above
