Well after many many years of avoiding doing anything with the blue ovals, I find myself throwing time again into a Sierra (Merkur) The plan is to make a 4X4 using the sierra saph drive line but keeping the 2.3 turbo engine. So far I'm just gathering parts and doing the research to nail the thing together. As always witha 15+ year old car thats live in a country where they salt the roads heavily during winter it has a bit of rot nothing that a welder and cossie body kit won't cover. outer sill on ove side, some rust bubbling and idiots thinking drilling holes in the trim lets sound through. so there's a bit of trip repairing to do, an interior colour change to black, new coil springs as the ones on there are broke. The rear is going for the usual LSD and disc conversion, front will have lowered Billi's for summer and standard for the winter as I'm going to have to change the wheels for snow/ice tyres I may as well try and preserve the front bumper aswell. Then I'll be looking into tuning the engine, they respond well to head/port and injection tuning, it already has cams ind ported intakes. The sump from a Cossie saph is reported to fit and I already have 90% of the front end. Well thats me, ex UK, mopved to Canada (Toronto) back into driving an old Ford I guess this is my CARma going around again, and again, and again.

Uhm, your better off asking one of the merkur forms.. either Merkursport (mine LOL) or MCA. Colin on both places I think knows Tim Roman who's already done the Merkur 2.3 4X4 or even WesP who has the Merkur with the YB 4X4.

tiny's car has been presserved for the last few months, as it's had no engine in it
