Opps...
Jumping to conclusions - oh well good luck when you get behind the wheel. Maybe your old man will give you the cossie as a track car for joint xmas & b'day
Yeah - been on and off here for a while over the last year or two, been buying the house and doing it up etc, hence no turbo any more
but still got the st170 which is ok-ish - Fancy ditching it for a new Focus ST-3 though
.
What car you looking at getting? Presumably ford? Tis a pain in the arse with the insurance though. I thought it was bad in 95' when I was 17, I was paying £650 TPFT on a 1.4 sport mkII fezza (I couldn't find a decent Nova SR
), which i thought was a right rip off but that sounds cheap now compared to the above quotes.
Presumably you want your own insurance (I guess they are well and truely onto the 'its my dads car' type trick nowadays?) and to build your own NCB, so a few things you could try to get your quote down;
1. If you can tell the insurance co. that you 'regularly drive other cars', it means that the total mileage risk is spread over another policy. For example - mine went up on my ST's policy by £100/year when I sold the RST and had only 1 car.
2. Do they still do PassPlus? I did this and got something like 10% discount and a years ncb chucked in. If not you could give a few companies a call and see if any advanced driving training helps?
3. Kick the cossie out of the garage and get your car in there over night (as far as the insurance knows anyway)!
I'm sure you know all this anyway. Thats about all I can think of at the mo, but if i remember anything else will add it.
Take it easy chap...

Jamie, yes I am going to do Pass Plus as well
And the best quote so far was Quinn and on a 1.1 Fiesta worth £200 it was £1450 TPFT
I guess the house is looking OK now then mate?
