So you think we should head even further towards a nanny state by removing something a great proportion of the country enjoy, simply because of a very slim proportion of idiots/accidents.

The chances of being injured @ an organised display or at home if instructions are being followed are virtually zero!

As for those who get hurt fooking around with fireworks, that's just Darwin's theory of evolution for you

Do you know that cars have killed over 30 million people? Think they should be banned?

How many incidents of alcohol related violence each year? Ban alcohol?

What about contact sports such as boxing? A few people killed or injured in the boxing ring each year I'd imagine?

Skydiving? Snowboarding? rock climbing? Far too dangerous. Ban them too eh?

Here's looking forward to the day when the government have banned anything remotely dangerous or environmentally unfriendly and our lives consists of nothing but working, going home and playing scrabble, ooo, hang on, competition can lead to argument s and violence. Scrabble would be banned too

Hey, dont shoot me down for voicing my opinion or agreeing with somebody elses.

If you feel strongly then do something about it and stop moaning about whats happening. Theres no such thing as an ideal world or a safe one either ..sad but true

Yes it was, but was also an accident...

You could ban everything thats dangerous till there was nothing left to do...

i do beleive that non organised display fireworks want banning tho, as there are idiot kids throwing em at people and scaring the hell out of the old folk, and blowing phone boxes up etc etc

Just leave it to the organisers imo

Agree with GurnE but I think there should be more control on the sales of fireworks.

There were some pricks at the bonfire i went to last night - firing rockets form out their hands etc

Personally i would have laughed my ass off if they had gotten hurt as it would have taught them fireworks are dangerous if not used propperly.

dont ban them, but ffs make em fooking quiet, i dont bother with the fireworks displays even though i live 5 mins from alexandra palace

pointless imo and its just mocking a guy who had strong feelings about government

i say they should keep it real and blow up what was ment to all them years ago

as for banning em, if you did all that would happen is organised events would cost 15 quid plus to gain entry due to the cost of running the event ect

if your too stupid to work a firework then for the love of god kill your self as you are just wasting air that others could breathe

firin rockets from your hand aint dangerous

its where the rocket goes thats the worrying part

i used to fook about with fireworks when i was younger ( didnt most people if where honest )

dont ban em or charge more for em to make em too much o buy ( fooking hate that idea)

if something must be done the issue a rashon book for em, onkly get soo many and you must apply for it before hand, that way anyone too stupid to fill in a form cant handle fireworks

I was at the santa pod bonfire last night and they lit the bonfire with a jet engine truck!!!! reversed up to it!!

i could have thought of a more subtle way to do it seeing asthough people were stood no more than 10 feet away from it!!!!!

lee i personally dont like christmas as im far from religious

but thats a holiday to reward your kids, but i personally wont lie about santa to my kid as i wont talk about a stalk delivering her to me

ban religon though, thats the most important thing as its just a way for people to interpret as they feel to do what they want

rastafarian religion,,,,,,,,,, mean they can smoke green and not get nicked

fook that your in england now and as such you can follow religion aslong as it dont mock our belives and way of live

dont get me talking about muslim beliefs too

99% of people get hurt with fire works due to messing about with them imo.

There are the unlucky incidents that happen with maybe dud fireworks and at fire work displays etc..

Bit harsh to ban them etc.. as its a good night if everyone behaves themselves with them.

AJ you ever dont it to make that assumption

ive done loads and tbh the only damage ive got on my hand are stiches from fighting and falling through a pub window, that could have killed me tbh but i dont wanna ban glass

i know that none my mates or me have injured our selves when holding rockets

just the worry is where it goes
