Default PACE Chargecooler, is it any good?

At lowering inlet temp at slow speeds and not restricting flow at higher boost?

Depends on car really but I'd say no - heat soak from the engine bay heat will cause you big problems when running much more than standard boost.

Awaits aload of smart arses to talk crap about sticking air-conditioning refrigerators on them.

Buy a FMIC.

as stated .. on driving you get to a water temperature saturation point .. the water can no longer be cooled by the rad for it ..

so you need a bigger rad that holds more water .. etc etc etc

they get hotter if not moving / slow speeds ...

had one on my sII .. worked really well in the colder weather .. summer was a waste of time tho .. got a grs fitted and never had any act issues.

and the fridge idea works .. i tried using 2 peltier devices on a metal container .. but once again you get to a point where even they can not cool the return water quickly enough.. did have an improved design but never the money to be able to test it

They work a lot better if you put them on the hot side as a standard escort cossie cooler with a separate water reservoir.

As the chargecooler will only be bringing the temperatures down marginally letting the intercooler work a little bit better.

HTH.

Daniel

Been running one for 7 years on my S1 - never had a problem and car pulls like a train no matter how warm it is.

I recommend them.

I thought they really worked really well up to the point when my act temperatures were going well high during the summer but that was only in slow moving traffic. Does anyone know if they require maintenance?
