I'd like to be there next year. Hopefully I will be, although it will come 6 days too early for me as I get my no claims on the 20th and that's when I step up to a fast car. Might have to organise my own trip with some mates unless the date gets moved to the end of april.

 

sounds like the perfect opportunity to do the ring trip in your old car before you replace it.

you do NOT need a fast car to enjoy the ring, honestly, last time a couple of the lads had an xr3i and an xr2i, and they both had a great time.

In fact i think you may find you try harder in a slower car and probably get more out of it

Also, its worth coming along just as a social event and to grab passenger rides.
Its defiantely more fun driving, but its still fun as a passenger i did that myself last trip and still had a great time (although not as fun as previously when ive driven too)
I intend to be driving in something half decent this time, but if for any reason i dont have a decent car on the road i will still go anyway.

Chip, you just might have a point. Besides, I'll either be driving an RST, a Clio 1.8 16v (137bhp) or a Capri 2.8i, depending on what my current car goes for and what comes up at the right time, right price when it does go, so I should still have some fun

I was actually thinking about what it would be like in my current car, totally forgetting I'll have something else, and that car is just painful to drive

I would like to get more involved with events off here and get to know people in person to be honest, but I might feel like a bit of a loner if I turn up to anything!

 

Just make sure you book into the same hotel as some other people and you wont be alone mate.

Its VERY social, everyone talks to everyone else (well other than i got a cold shoulder off the dinguin, but thats the exception not the rule)

John, when you book your single i'll have the double you have already booked off of you for mongo then.
Mongo will probably be on his own, but is such a big coont he needs a double anyway

TBH probably end up with only one person in one or two of them, but its better to have the space capacity and its only about a tenner a night more for the double anyway isnt it?

SO it's a 3 night stay.... call it a ton for hotel room, a ton 20 for ferry from hull? Add in petrol and food/drink......

I reckon I could probably do this in one of the cars I mentioned above for around the Ł600 mark. More than worth it in my opinion

Are you guys already getting stuff booked up then? I will be looking to book at either the end of November or the end of december (this would be better cost wise) if that's not too late?

My brother in law and I were actually talking about taking a trip to the ring ourselves next year so I might see if he fancies it in his P1

 

The hotel we stay at you pay on arrival they just take a CC numbe off you as security type thing in case you do not turn up.

 

So how much all in are we talking for a trip like this? Before I give the bank manager the bad news!
