Sorry Rich, you are wrong mate. Drinking in moderation can actually have beneficial effects to your health. You can't really say the same about smoking. Also the reason they want to ban smoking in public places is passive smoking. The smoke of others harms non-smokers, its a fact.

Of course if you drink excessively it is harmful, like most drugs. For example take 2 paracetemol and they get rid of your headache. Take 200 and you will likely die.

Had it hear in some form for over 4 years now. Its great to be able to go out for meal without fag smoke drifting over your dinner and to be able to go to a bar, get trashed and come home not smelling like a cigarette.

Its in clubs here as well and I believe they have to provide smoke free rooms or a room at least.

I agree, ban it in all public places, nothing worse than the stink of it in a pub or club, if smokers want to get lung cancer, blood clots and tar breath, they should go do it in their own homes and not around non-smokers

I'm not a smoker and grew up passively smoking so it doesn't really bother me that much. I think the government has made an excellent and strong decision which benefits everybody.

Banning the sales of ciggarettes is an option but all this will do is create a black market which will take advantage of those addicted.

Yes it makes the government money and that's part of their consideration but they also need to maintain control.
