Default Transfer box's / VC's

In the standard transfer box (Escort Cosworth) what rating is the standard VC in NM?

And to what benefit would there be from fitting a 'pumped up' one while the gearbox is out?

what NM is best to go for when selecting a new VC or shld i just leave it all alone?

Cheers

Kelvin

the centre vc controls the amount of slip between the front and rear axles, teh tighter it is the less slip

tarmac spec is usually between 50nm and 80 nm
gravel spec can be as high as 250nm

road versions are not too far from 50nm anyway.

but you do need slight slip in a road car so not too tight ( nowhere near kev sharp tight !)

as there are certain circumstances when there will be a differance in speed on the front to rear axles. not only that the tighter they are the hotter they run , and vc DONT like to run over approx 110 deg or they lock

markk so to step from a 25nm standard VC to a 50nm VC will be ok for odd road use etc?

50 nm will be fine for the road pal, the reason that the competition cars dont use any higher on tarmac is that there wheels dont leave the tarmac, hence there is never and differance in speed between front a rear axles, where as gravel - well fook me - how much differance to you want to try and control !!
