Hey
To be very honest.. I have had so doubts about doing this restore. Not because I dont love the car but because I have had it for 3 years.. and its always been standard. But the 3 years I have had it it has never broken down on me.. starts every morning and never caused me any pain (other than the time it got stolen) Thought allot about doing an S1 as there's almost no one left that's LHD, but I haven't found one yet so I will do this car as I kinda love it
Well this is my 89' german import rs turbo. Imported it about 2,5 years ago and after 6 month it got stolen.
Here's some pictures from when I had just bought it

The ones who took it drove it out in a forest and took the turbo, manifold, expansion tank plus they scratched the bootlid and tried to remove the "rs Turbo sticker" with a screwdriver. Plus they used a screwdriver to open the fillercap.
Pictures of how I got the car back from the police.
I was very sad that christmas... but it comming back to me made it the best christmas ever!

Just been taking all the ice out of the car today, not allot as I don't like ICE in a car, but just some cables from the previous owner and the amp and sub.
The car will need a new battery tray as its a bit rusty but not that bad. Where the bumper is mounted there's also some rust but again not allot. Im looking forward to taking the kit off it and see how much rust is hiding :g:
The doors will both need to be replaced as there's rust on the top of them

Small scratch on the bootlid aswell.

Interior is fine, but the passenger side floor gets wet when it rains

The stuff to go on the car / be fixed;
- 90 front bumper and spoiler as I have the interior. It seems that the car came from the factory with 90 spec interior with 80 bumpers.
- New windscreen and there's starting to appear a white line in the edge of the window
- New turbo, a tb0348 with a custom downpipe. 2wd 4 pot cossie callipers and 283mm discs.
- Used alloy rad that I got off rudey
- New battery tray
- Sort out the rust in the arches
- Tidy up the engine bay without repainting it
- Some new alloys
- ...

And I will need a new engine as the current one have done over 116k (190,000km) and Im talking to a few guys in the uk about the engine. I "only" want 210bhp out of the car and im hoping to able to find a proper engine for it.
Im hoping to start the restore within the next 4 weeks as I have just bought a wintercar to puddle around in.. big old bmw 525

So all that's left now it to get the bmw on the road and the RS in the garage and start work

Nice one my Danish friend
Will be good to see the progress you make
What a shit that it got nicked
And very random what they took
Still, you got it back
Good luck with it all, white S2's are the best

Been neglecting this for a loooong time but finally had time spend some time with the car.
This is where it stands, with my dads Alfetta GT next to it.

Took the bumper off, removed the IC so I can remove the rad and replace it with my pace alloy one. The turbo will be replaced with my 4x4 unit.

Expected to find some rust here but not as much as there could have been.

All the hoses was full of oil from the turbo

I really miss driving it

Small update.
Took the rad off.

Battery tray is gone, no surprises there.

Removed all the stuff around it so I can get it fixed. I'm not gonna do the enginebay this year although it needs it.

There aint as much rust inside the enginebay as I would have thought.
