You might not have the correct ports open on your router or your ISP might be massaging download speeds on your account.

I'm afraid if you don't understand that - it's unlikely you can sort it mate

Suggest you stick your router model into Google and the word torrent and see if any guides come up.

You will have to have opened up the ports 6881 to 6889 on your router and firewall software to start with. If that doesn't noticeably increase the speed of your downloads then I'd suggest choosing a higher port number picked at random as your ISP will possibly have restricted transfer rates on those ports. You only need one port - just that as standard torrent software uses a range of ports.

To change the router settings go to a section titled 'advanced routing/gaming options' or similar. As said above, best off googling for help with your router and firewall settings.

Cheers,

Andy

Best to find out what ports the tracker uses and opening these port numbers up on your BT client. Also is your firewall/router configured properly to allow the bt client to access the net.

You could try a different bt client to see if that helps. I've tried all the clients but always go back to the Bit Tornado as thats the one I seem to get the best speeds with.
