whats the difference between a 3dr sierra shell and a 3dr cosworth sieraa shell.

I think Chip had problems with the clearance for the gearbox

 

good idea to PM chip 3dr as he used a 1.6 shell for his conversion

 

kool, i wait til he sees the topic, this has all come about as i know ere theres a 3 dr shell for sale, kept in doors and its mint, fully stripped down and eveything, so i asked the bloke if its just a 3dr sierra or a cosworth, he said cosworth and i asked for proof, he dint have any but started realing loads of differences off which seemed hard to except they would be different were he was saying, for example, he said the cosworth had larger arches?

the early 3door shells had the narrow gearbox tunnel, a genuine 3 door cosworth shell will have the post 85 floorpan with the wide tunnel, the rest of the shell is virtually identical

 

cheers mate, he never mentioned nothing about the tunnel, but hes asking 4k for the shell

4k bloody hell - I was selling a proper fully prepared brand new group A genuine cosworth shell for 2k - luckily I saw sense and kept it in the end

bare new genuine shells start from £1200 on to about 2k with glass, closures etc

Couple of hundred quid at best if its an early non cosworth shell and upto 1k for an original cosworth shell if it has ID

 

well this was just a shell, no doors or owt, had nothing to prove it was a genuine cosworth shell and wen he asked 4k for it i could of laughed in his face but he was larger then me. i was hoping he would say a couple of hundred quid.

i paid 1750 for mine ,new shell cosworth tag ,with all pannels
Simpson bros of york have a bare shell for 1750 + vat and one with all pannels for 4k which i think is takeing the piss to be honest
a Freind of Zetecbabe has a 3 door he is busting and has a good shell with ID??? had engine damage so he bust it .

i called them at the beginning of the year the 4k one has all the pannels mate..
they did have a bare shell but it had a little rust on the seams for 1750. sounds like he is trying to have yer eyes out mate .

yeah i was there sat just gone, and i dont know much about this, but all panels i taking its, wings, doors, quarters, taligate and bonnet, if so it only had wings and quartes, still 4k seems a tad steep.
