Need some advice on choice and where to get one.

£500 spending limit, doesn’t have to bursting with technology but again cant be crap, going to be used a student doing coursework and probably some net browsing I should think

Any recommendations?

looking at the acer one , is that battery life of 1.7hrs about average as im not a laptop user.

looks very good for the price though

Main stream - any brand. HP/Tosh/Sony/acer/Panasonic/JVC etc...


Can pm u tom with prices - none to hand now. brand new, sealed, UK spec, full warranty. U need to tell me what u will be using it for exactly - as there's so many available aimed at diff users.

yeh no probs, do mean what programs will be used mainly??

i do know its not needed for games, or i should hope not!!

think its always to have a good screen, 15" or thereabouts?

dell are superb

on me 3rd desktop with em, no faults, no issues ever, touch wood, also had dell axim x5 handheld pc and also no issues

dell for me always

dell do make good PC's. 15inch is std screen size. Yes, i mean programs. U pay more for smaller or bigger screens - down to 8inches, upto20.

i just brought a acer travel mate 4021 from tesco's for £560, for the same things you will use it for,also to be a router till i go wireless.lol.

and im very happy with it only thing i would like is more memory.

ooooo, let us know who/where as i want something the same!

Basicly can't be arsed to use the computer & would rather sit on the sofa in front of the tv browsing the web from a laptop!
