ACT gauge sensor fitment
Yea you want it as close to the throttle as possible to see the exact temp the engine gets!
The hose is very small, the rubber/silicone hose will squash round it, dont worry about a leak!
Ideally you want one, before and after the IC, to see hoe efficient your IC is, but in reality one is enough at the throttle!

Is this post a joke???
Just stick it in before the the butter fly on the throttle body, easy!!!
Whats the next question....."Where do I put my spark plugs, any pic's???"

I have a switchable ACT gauge
Has 2 wires for 2 readings
One is in the passenger side of the inlet manifold (at top) and the other is at the outlet for intercooler
Get the best of both worlds that way

The most accurate place is at ther outlet of the intercooler. By putting it in the engine bay, near the manifold, the sensor itself starts to heat up due to the radiant heat coming off from the engine. Very expensive sensors are specially designed to combat this - what u are trying to measure is temperature by conduction.
If you place it in the vacume pipe, u will also get dodgy readings. Air here is moving slowly, and easily picks up heat. The very fast moving large volume of air at the outlet of the intercooler does not pick up any radiant heat on it's way to the manifold. The senor is kept at air temperature, and can respond much more quickly to changes.[/quote]

Okay mine is basically as close to the throttle body as possible and can clearly say i am getting dodgy reading of around 70 degrees which i know is not right maybe i might try putting it on the intercooler outlet but its not accurate as you want too really know what the temp is when its entering the engine or maybe i'll just bin the whole thing as its been pissing me of for months
I seen some gauges have the sensor in a hose connection that you swicth for one of the connections on the inlet manifold. The sensor I got is flat and I tried to put it under the small hose between the charge carrier and the throttle, no leaks that I could hear.
