Default BIG THANK TO POWER ENGINEERING AND PRO ALLOY :D

Went o PE on thurs with the Fast Ford RS turbo, its been running like a pile of shit since we spent the companys money on it

anyway, we go down, toddy sets it up and makes it work, the engine was rebuilt soooo shodily it was comical

anyway, kent cvh35 cam, chipped ecu and a pace 1/2 width cooler, running 13psi it made 181bhp and 189lbft and 71 deg ACT

so me and new boy neil fit the pro alloy full width cooler, no other mods and it made 190bhp 201lbft @ 5066rpm! and ACT of 57 deg max

top fucking rod boys!!

oh, toddy said we can spank it up to 18psi next time but it was 7.30 pm and we all wanted to get gone.

should easily see 210bhp

handles like a bag of wank tho, and new brakes are now on the list

ps matt, we forgot to get some PE stickers, lob some in the post will ya

ginge - pretty normal for std chipped cars - especially if no vernier on the pulley. small housing and std head. Prob flatlined rather than fell off.

I have a GRS Evo 3 and it never goes anywhere near that on the rollers

Mind you it's having a 400bhp zetec built at the moment so I think that should give the intercooler a bit of shit so we'll see

it could just have been where the temp sensor wire was, it was slotted in the samco by the TB so the charge carrier got hot from the heat of the engine.

car goes like a c*nt now tho

it was on the rollers too, i guess we need a proppa temp sensor to accuratly measure the ACTs then

that's a fair position for the Temp sensor Dan - it's the temperature of the air that the engine gets when all is said and done..

Unless you know the output of the fans, how can you say the ACTs are shite (unless of course your ACTs were recorded on the same rollers with the same fans )?

14°C difference between the Pace one and the Pro-alloy one is a significant real world improvement. As long as any further tests are carried out using the same rollers / fans, then all improvements made will be valid.

Comparing different rollers / fans is a waste of time and completely idiotic and it is impossible to make direct comparisons .

When my car was last setup, Chris had the fan's on for at least 20 mins before even switching the engine on and even after 4 or 5 run's, the temps were no higher then 30oc

When I go back, And get a healthy 18 psi put through, I'll ask him what sort of ACT's it's showing

Rick - I had PE put a vernier on my S2 (with the std cam) and it made not 1bhp more than the using the std settings on a std pulley. Just incase anyone thought that its poorly timed from the factory like a Focus ST/SVT (on the zorst side)

Great advice from you as usual!

to be honest tho, at full chat on the road you are going to be moving a shit load more air over the cooler than the fan on a rolling road can provide, so i guess we need to use a ACT gauge on the road to get a 100% accurate figure...
