Default whats the problem?

hi peeps, just wondering whether this was normal or not...

basically when the RST came back on the road...i changed the earthing point of the headunit to a screw where a few other things were placed (also held the old alarm brain in place)...my gauges are also earthed at the same place...

Now, when i turn the headunit on...the rear heated screen light turns on...when it turns off, the light also turns off...however the rear heated screen still works fine...it switches on and off however the light will perminantly be on...

also when the music is playing loud...my AFR gauge goes a bit mad at times going all over the place...but when i put my foot on the brake...it sorts itself out only leaving one light on which is what it should do (not connected to the downpipe yet)

also when i press the brake, the fuel computer light and other lights in the car dim slightly...also the Voltmeter drops ever so slightly...

there are 2 batteries in the car and the last time that i checked they were fine with no problems whatsoever...

any idea what could be up?

sounds like your earth is live, there must be a current passing through the items you describe,to give power through their earths,

tricky one ,clean up your earths first!

the head unit earth might need to be looped,i.e.direct to your battery earth.

its a good indication,as some electrics need a ground earth and some need to be looped to make a pure circuit!

its usually a problem when fitting a stereo with no "distructions",as you usually go by the rule of earthing to the body earth, and then probs arrise,

where, as if , "we" follow the instructions after such a prob,it reads,"DONT EARTH ON CHASSIS!" then your king dick coz you took twice as long as it woulda in the first place ,but you fixed your motor!

it could just be a few amps, but its not good,as there will be a conflict, and burninig wires/loom shite, so get it sorted ,cos stripping out your motor and replacing the loom is horrible!

and we dont want that!
