Default Web design for idiots?

Anyone suggest a book that would help me create my first website

Bear in mind I've not 'created' anything on a computer since I programmed my spectrum+ to play 'Hangman'

Microsoft frontpage used to be good for learners as it gave you loads of tutorials. Failing that dreamweaver seems to be the most widely used for beginers now.

Use the internet to learn......

http://www.davesite.com/webstation/html/

http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp

Get a bit of practice in, I'd suggest using notepad to start with, that way you'll learn how to contsruct web pages properly - use tools like Dreamweaver etc. once you've learnt the basics to speed up production.

Don't be tempted to use Word to create HTML pages

You wanna try building a 90+ page website using only Notepad then

Seriously though, it' IS the best way to learn HTML, I just use Dreamweaver etc. to speed up development - it's always handy to actually know how the underlying code works

Agree that learning the code is good tho, as does give you a better understanding.
