I'd keep the T2 in then. When u say cossie stg3, what spec is it? If it's got cut back exhasust wheel, or a 0.63 housing it's bad news...[/quote]

nope - u HAVE to use new lifters, they are bedded into the cam - it'll wear out in noi time otherwise.

A tuner once told me that the std cam is not bad at all.
High duration ones have the risk of the mixture being "blown through"
partly by the boost pressure.
Also the biggest torque of the engine is not in the high rev area.

In my opinion, wild cams work well with high boost. When using relatively low boost like 1bar, the standard cam gives good power and a very nice power band. Starts to pull strongly right from 2500rpm.

The best spec on a cvh, using the traditonal turbos, is a wild cam on a stage 2 turbo - they go like hell. My engine is pretty diff, and a 0.48 cos turbo works well, but i can rev it. t34 going on soon, as i have on here - but really want to play with the bigger gt28's

JesseT, I fully agree.
I love the looks of the Orion and of course the S1,
but I do not agree with the S2 wheels on your S1
!!
Cheers

Standard cam is rubbish at high rpms, no need to take it much beyond 5000 rpm, is a steep downhill from there.

It's an old picture of when it was built, but not yet fully finished. Those were the wheels that were on it to able pushing it around the garage. You might notice some minor parts missing too. It's on seven spokes now as it should. I should update the pictures, but my digital camera went bust some time ago and I haven't bought a new one yet.

i find them quite easy but thats maybe because i have fitted three of these cams to different cars which were the off the shelf turbo cam, they have just brought out a new profile. for the rs turbo. my custom cam is a bit my radical then the cvh37... i had major problems with kent cams they use shite blanks,
its a toss up wheather there cams last 200- or 10000 miles

Same cam, but a different cam pulley to retard it a bit compared to XR3i.

You will find ur cam is very worn, and a new one will make the car a lot more punchy
