does the ECU need modding / programming to talk to the monitor?

or should it just be plug and play ?

im getting a no communication to ECU message on the monitor

If it`s a genuine Pectel monitor i presume it will need pectel software in the ecu....

My P8 (without Pectel board) needed something "switched on" on the chip whilst being mapped to work my monitor.

aah.. this could be my problem. Yes im using P8 aswell

any idea if the switch in the ECU is a 'manual' one or a software one?

mine had a pectel board already and needed extra wiring done inside the p8 box to make it work.
dont know what it was as grove did it all (ahmed blowjob)

i had to pay something like 60 quid to have my data stream turned on when i had a p8! it had a pectel/ahmed board fitted

right, with the engine running, if i turn it to datalog, then back.. it reads ok.. but cerain features arent on there.. ie water is 0 , fuel time is ) etc..

looks like i need my ecu sorted then

Ahmed/Harvey supplied chips usually have datastream switched on (software) but as Markk points out, the P8 ECU board will need a slight 'hardware' mod, which Harvey can do for you.
