I think I need to upgrade my Grafix card,
Curently using an ATI Radeon 9500, Just started using my PC to play games and it needs to run in low settings
My system is a Packard Bell AMD athlon 64, 3200+

I've just bought an XFX 256mb nvidia 7800GTX 490mhz version. It's pretty sweet but not cheap.

depends on your budget but i'd go for one of these:-
Ł100 - Nvidia 6600 GT (AGP)
Ł200 - Nvidia 6800 GT (AGP)
Ł250 - Nvidia 7800 GT (PCI-E)
I use the 6600GT and it plays BF2 at 1024x768 at max settings just fine.

What the difference between AGP and PCI-E. And how do I find out which one I need. Seen lots of these card on ebay etc but they always state "make sure it will fit your mobo"?

You need to post up your Mobo spec, Processor and present memory mate
Like asking for an engine when we dont know what its going into!
The least troublesome cards and drivers at the mid/higher end seem to be Radeon. But its a waste of time bragging about your high spec card when its in a 5 year old Jetway MOBO with 256 of PC100 memory. lol
If you use a GeForce .. and you dont want problems ,, stick to the Windows Certified drivers, too. Same goes for ATI, but their drivers seem to be better engineered anyways.
For the record, I am using an ATI 9600 Pro and in my Speed box .. an ATI Radeon X800XT Platinum (one of the best cards money can buy)

Just spoke to PC World
They said any card would fit AGP, PCI etc said PCI-E is the fastest?

Sorry .. Just seen this ..
That 9600 Pro is well below what your Motherboard can probably support .. We still need to know what Mobo.
It will be AGP or PCI Express (forget the other PCI ones ; )
You should be looking at 128 ATI or similar.
Download this system info app .. Run it .. then post the results for the Mobo name .. memory, Graphics slot info, processor. Theres loads of info produced!
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html
Your mobo MAY support dual-channel memory .. If it does .. you would prob have two matching sticks of memory. If it only has one stick (but supports two) there may be a performance upgrade available there .. even if you do have 1Gb already.

Unknown .. .lol : (
128 or 256 will not be much noticeable difference for you.
Still need to look at mobo or get info about the slot type and model : (
Get any manual with the PC?

I cant ID it mate from that pic .. been looking ..
Looks like 1x AGP, 3x PCI, Via chipset .. I recognise, but cant remember that gold chip heatsink .. maybe MSI.
There will be info on it somewhere.
I'll show the pic to a mate tomoz .. he builds a few, too ; )
Whats that in the bottom slot position?
