Default Simple really, Series 1 or Series 2?

Probably been done before but I want everyone to vote and to say why!

For me its gotta be the Series 1, you don't need to mess with them at all for them to look so good, and there more of a Motorsport car than the S2 anyway!

You can't beat a MK3 scort really. I've never owned and S1, only a MK3 XR3 (breifly! ) If I didn't have my S2 now, the next thing I'd probably look for is an S1

I voted series 1... to me it's the purest, original and best! I just can't afford one!

Owned an S2 for almost 8 yrs. Just replaced itwith an S1. S2 is more modern looking : external & internal, but the S1 is more hardcore looking if a little 'dated' inside

Had much more 'respect' with the S1 in the last yr than the S2 had over the time I had it & had so many top comments with the S1: but I did love the S2.

That about sums it up for me too. The S2 is a more modern looking compared to the S1 but you only have to look at the S1 for a fraction of a second to know exactly what is coming towards you. A bloke actually walked into a lampost looking at mine when i first got her . . . . Priceless !

S1 looks more aggresive than the S2, and is more of a headturner. S2 is more refined and subtle in appearance. personally i prefer the S2 though

Know what u mean buddy, I had a bloke kneecap himself on a park bench starring at my old XR3i!

But it's still nothing compared to a nicely modded, minty clean S1!

You say that about the interior mate but I reckon a Series 1 interior beats the early spec S2 interior hands down, that stuff belongs with the base models!

Not saying I don't like 90 spec tho!

didnt know their was a difference in handling, wots different? the thing with the series one is they only look good standard where as series 2's can look good standard or with a few extras, and they forgot to put the bonnet vents on the series 1 too the series 2 also has better brakes

Looks on a Series 1, abit of de-locking and colour coding handles etc is as far as you need to go, except a spot of lowering and a nice set of wheels they rock, better than messing with the bodywork on a Series 2 IMO

Didn't Series 1's have adjustable TCA's or something, better more so than the S2 anyway, sure someone can elaborate! lol

Brakes, may be better, but not by much! Think Ford got that one more than abit wrong on both version's!

It depends on what you want to do with the said cars. If you want to keep thing pure, and not f"@'k about with it then S1 all the way!
BUT, if you are serial modifier and just wanna make things faster and flashier then it has to be the S2!
Personally I would love to own a S1, but then I would also fancy an Escos, TVR Tuscan, a 3 Door Sierra - the list goes on!
So I have to make do with what ive got - a wicked little H reg XR3i - does me fine
